I Don’t Want to Wait ‘Til Christmas

Welcome to InKing Royalty’s July Blog Hop! This year’s Blog Hop themes are inspired by popular songs – this month’s song is “I Don’t Want to Wait ’til Christmas.”  We are half-way through the year, so there’s no better time to start thinking about the joy of Christmas. We are excited to share our creations with you today!  After you read my post, I hope you’ll hop over to the next person on the list at the base of this post.

I have very few current Christmas stamps right now because the Holiday Catalog will be coming out in September. I had 2 sets that had any Christmas stamps but luckily At Home With You is one of my favorite sets and it can be all dolled up for the holidays. I made the background using Shimmery White Embossing Paste and the brick stencil from the Patterned Party Decorative Masks. I used watercolor paper for all of the layers and Cherry Cobbler for the base. I stamped with Memento Black and used reinkers with an aqua painter to color everything in.

While I had my all of my embossing paste out I played around with adding my reinkers directly into the paste and then applying it to the paper. I love the effect! From left to right I used Granny Apple Green, Balmy Blue and Real Red. It is hard to see in photos but they have some serious sparkle!
