MONSTER MASH BLOG HOP

InKing Royalty Blog Hop - October 2018.png

Welcome to InKing Royalty’s October Blog Hop! This year’s Blog Hop themes are inspired by popular songs – this month’s song is “Monster Mash.” As you can guess, our Blog Hop today is filled with fun projects that are inspired by the spookiest night of the year – Halloween. We are excited to share our creations with you today! You have made it to the end of today’s Blog Hop so thank you for joining us!

October is my favorite month of the year…cooler weather, autumn leaves, football, my birthday and Halloween!

I had fun making today’s card using the hostess set Warm Hearted on page 54 of the Holiday Catalog. I paired it up with a silver Glimmer Paper BOO using the Large Letter Framelits. Since I didn’t have any DSP that fit the theme of the day I used Pumpkin Pie, Crushed Curry and Gorgeous Grape 1″  strips mounted on Basic Black cardstock to gives this card its Halloween feel. I think it turned out really cute…especially with that awesome little skull stamp!

September Morn

September Blog Hop.png

Welcome to InKing Royalty’s September Blog Hop! This year’s Blog Hop themes are inspired by popular songs – this month’s song is “September Morn,” a Neil Diamond classic from the late ’70’s. As you can guess, our Blog Hop today is filled with projects that are inspired by the beauty of Autumn – September is when the air becomes crisp and the leaves start to fall. We are excited to share our creations with you today! After you read my post, I hope you’ll hop over to the next person on the list at the base of this post.

I don’t own many fall sets but I really liked Peaceful Place on page 59 of the Annual Catalog. It is a really good set to color with out blends. I paired it with Country Lane DSP from the Holiday Catalog for a crisp finish.

Dog Days are Over

August Blog Hop Banner.png

Welcome to InKing Royalty’s August Blog Hop! This year’s Blog Hop themes are inspired by popular songs – this month’s song is “Dog Days Are Over.” While we still feel the heat from a long, hot summer, August is a perfect time of year to start planning our Fall-themed cards. The projects in our hop will showcase Autumn, back-to-school and warm colors – you might even see a dog or two! We are excited to share our creations with you today! After you read my post, I hope you’ll hop over to the next person on the list at the base of this post.
Country Home is such a beautiful new stamp set in the 2018 Holiday Catalog. It is so sweet and reminds me of the simple life. Because of this, I kept my card very simple to allow the image to be the only focal point. I colored the flowers and pitcher with our blends and then added a hint of a scored border. Layering it only once gives it a feeling of a matted picture.

I Don’t Want to Wait ‘Til Christmas

Welcome to InKing Royalty’s July Blog Hop! This year’s Blog Hop themes are inspired by popular songs – this month’s song is “I Don’t Want to Wait ’til Christmas.”  We are half-way through the year, so there’s no better time to start thinking about the joy of Christmas. We are excited to share our creations with you today!  After you read my post, I hope you’ll hop over to the next person on the list at the base of this post.

I have very few current Christmas stamps right now because the Holiday Catalog will be coming out in September. I had 2 sets that had any Christmas stamps but luckily At Home With You is one of my favorite sets and it can be all dolled up for the holidays. I made the background using Shimmery White Embossing Paste and the brick stencil from the Patterned Party Decorative Masks. I used watercolor paper for all of the layers and Cherry Cobbler for the base. I stamped with Memento Black and used reinkers with an aqua painter to color everything in.

While I had my all of my embossing paste out I played around with adding my reinkers directly into the paste and then applying it to the paper. I love the effect! From left to right I used Granny Apple Green, Balmy Blue and Real Red. It is hard to see in photos but they have some serious sparkle!

I didn’t realize that this is my second post in a row using the set Enjoy Life until I went to write my post. Ooops…but obviously this set really speaks to me. I had the idea for this card from the moment I laid eyes on it. With the theme of today’s hop it was a no brainer that it was time to make it happen.

The colors I used are Pineapple Punch from the new In Colors, the beautiful returning Costal Cabana, Whisper White and Memento black ink. The ribbon is Whisper White classic weave. I rounded the corners with the new, awesome Detailed Trio punch. I made the sun image with a circle mask using the 2″ circle punch and simply sponged in the Pineapple Punch ink.

When I saw the set Enjoy Life on pg 58 of the new catalog I was instantly in love with the upbeat, positive messages in both the images and the sentiments. Connie Fitzgerald designed this as her $1,000,000 sales set. I paired it with a piece of DSP from Tranquil Textures. I used Night of Navy, Fresh Fig and Whisper White. I took the idea for this card from pg 59 of the catalog.

Let the Good Times Roll

InKing Royalty Blog Hop - Let the Good Times Roll

Welcome to InKing Royalty’s April Blog Hop! This year’s hops are themed around some of our favorite songs. Today’s hop is pulls inspiration from B.B. King’s song “Let the Good Times Roll.” How fun is that?! We’ve created projects that either feature images with wheels (cards, wagons, bikes) or celebrate good times. We are excited to share our projects with you. After you read my post, I hope you’ll hop over to the next person on the list at the base of this post.

I decided to take a little liberty with this months theme and go with circles. They are round like tires, right?

At Stampin’Up’s On Stage event last week we were introduced to one of the most incredibly cool new items that will be in the 2018-2019 catalog. The Delightfully Detailed Laser cut Specialty Paper is unlike anything I have ever seen before. I was immediately in love with the piece of interlocked circles. I layered it on top of a piece of my favorite returning color, Poppy Parade. I was over the moon when I saw that my favorite color of all time was returning as a new color in the new color line up. I lovingly took one of the last 3 sheets I have been hoarding for the last 5 years and was able to cut it without shedding a tear. I added a sweet little sentiment from Tabs For Everything and a bit of linen thread for a card that screams “PAM”!!!!

A little more about the laser cut paper. Each pack comes with 8 12×12 sheets and has several shapes and designs and even a bunch of borders. You can just cut out the pieces, or parts of the pieces…but the best part is that they are white on one side and vanilla on the other side!!! The possibilities are endless!
